News from St.
Stephens
We
are, at the moment, in the process of working out how we
can best proceed in reaching out to the rest of Tovil.
There has been so much new building in the last couple of
years and there is so much planned that this is quite an
awe-inspiring thought but obviously a very important
task. But
it is not all work and no play because as you know that
makes not only Jack a very dull boy! On
Sunday 19th January, 29 "St Stephenites" went
off after the service to the White Hart - Collier
Street. We were excellently looked after and both young
and older enjoyed not only a very good meal but also
a valuable time of fellowship and getting to know
each other. We
have already got a couple of things planned for this side
of Easter. As you know on the 2nd March, the whole
Diocese is invited to a special welcome service for our
new Archbishop Rowan Williams. We at St Stephen's will be
attending this service as a whole congregation. If
anybody would like to go but has no means of transport
please contact me (01622 768544) and I will see if we might
have a spare seat somewhere. We will be having a quick
lunch together before leaving St Stephen's at about
12.30pm. Then
on Thursday 13th March some twenty or more of us will be
going to the Graham Kendrick concert at Rochester
Cathedral. This starts at 7.00pm. There are a couple of
spare tickets costing £7.00 (instead of £8.00) so if
anyone would like to join us they would be more than
welcome and should contact Elizabeth (01622 768544) as
soon as possible. As
you can see we are very much 'well and flourishing' and
hopefully we will be able to share more of what is
happening in this part of the parish. Yours
in Christ Elizabeth
